Moong dahl curry

Lentils ( you can buy this from indian stores or whole foods)


1 cup moong dahl
2 large ripe tomato
1/2 red onion
1-2 green chillies
1tsp turmeric powder
salt as per taste
2 cloves of garlic
small pc of ginger
3 tbs of olive oil
1 cup of water


wash the dahl, set aside in water for half hr . this will be soft so it cooks fast

cut the tomato in slices,along with onion and chilles

grate the garlic and ginger

heat the 3tbs of olive oil, when hot add the onions, chillies, ginger, tomato, garlic and sautee it for 2-3 minutes

add the dahl, mix well and add 1cup of water, close the lid and let it cook,

stir occassionaly, dahl will be a little thick once cooked, can add a litte water for a thinner consistency,
serve with rice
