Yellow Moong Dal (Lentils)

Tastey but spicy. Good with Rice or Pasta maybe even potatoes.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup yellow lentils
1 onion, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1-2 dry chilies, broken
1 tsp. fennel seeds
1/4 tsp. tumeric
2 tbsp. margarine

Directions:

1)Wash Lentils. Put in pot with enough water to cover and add tumeric, bring to a boil add water when necessary, cook for about 20 minutes.
2)In separate pan cook onions with margarine and chilies, until golden.
3)Add tomatoesand fry until soft.
4)Then add the salt, boiled lentils and a cup of water if necessary. Cook for a few minutes.
