Apple Cake

Simple quick dessert cake, excellent flavour.


340 grams (about 11 ozs) of your favourite plain cake mix This item is not going to mess up the recipe but it must be PLAIN type flavour.
1 apple peeled, cored & in julienne strips
1/2 tspn cinnamon Optional
nutmeg to taste optional


Mix cake recipe as required. Using a ring pan (may be greased & floured) place 1/3 to 1/2 mix into the pan. Layer apple pieces into the mix leaving a edge of the mix free of apple bits. Add the rest of the cake mix topping the apple bits. You may like to add a struesel topping now or just bake this up by the packet directions. May be used as dessert with custard, cream or suitable substitutes or to slice and enjoy with tea or coffee.
